Optometrist
Dr. Lopez grew up in Gig Harbor, WA. After high school, he lived as a missionary in Nicaragua for two years. He received his Bachelor's degree in Biology from Brigham Young University – Idaho. He then went on to receive his Doctorate in Optometry from the University of Missouri in St. Louis College of Optometry. After practicing in Spokane for a little while, he and his wife decided that they wanted to be even closer to family and returned to Western Washington.
When not at work enjoying time with his patients, Dr. Lopez is taking every moment possible to spend time with his wife and their five children. In his free time, Dr. Lopez enjoys watching and critiquing movies, learning songs on various instruments, and playing any sport he can. He also enjoys hiking, camping, and anything in the water. He and his family absolutely love the mountains, the waters, and the trees in the area and they are grateful to be here.
Dr. Lopez is fluent in conversational Spanish and he hopes to use that tool by visiting other countries to perform eye exams on those that would not have the means otherwise. He loves being an Optometrist and spending one on one time with others getting to know them. Likewise, he considers it a privilege to spend his days helping others obtain clearer vision and managing the health of their eyes.

Optometrist
Dr. Denise Iversen spent most of her childhood in eastern and western Idaho and her summers with extended family in western Washington. In 1997, she graduated with honors from Boise State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. She later graduated from Pacific University's College of Optometry in 2001.
In 2003, Dr. Iversen and her husband returned to the state of Washington to establish their careers in healthcare and make the south Puget Sound their forever home. Dr. Iversen joined 20/20 Eyecare Centers in 2007 and then again in 2021, after spending time with her young children at home.
Dr. Iversen, along with the support of her co-workers, strives to give a thorough eye exam and also provide the patient with a clear understanding of their ocular conditions. She enjoys getting to know her patients and their visual needs to provide the best possible options for obtaining great vision.
Dr. Iversen is especially passionate about providing vision therapy to patients of all ages to help improve eye teaming and focusing abilities. She also has special interest in pediatric vision and contact lenses.
In her free time, Dr. Iversen and her husband enjoy spending time with their three children exploring the Pacific Northwest.
She is currently seeing patients at our Auburn and Port Orchard Clinics.
Optometrist
Dr. Walston grew up in Western Kentucky and is an experienced Doctor of Optometry. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kentucky in 2000, and his Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University School of Optometry in 2005. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Walston is a primary care eye physician who has received extensive training in fitting specialty contact lenses, pediatric vision therapy, diagnosing and treating threatening ocular disease, and co-managing refractive and other surgical procedures. He especially enjoys the challenge of revealing problems that a patient never knew they had and is committed to improving the quality of life of his patients and preserving ocular health for a lifetime.
Dr. Walston loves the Pacific Northwest and takes advantage of all the exciting outdoor activities the area has to offer. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, disc golf, fishing, and watching UK basketball with his family. He would welcome any recommendations on local restaurants, hikes, or things to do and see in the area.

Optometrist
Dr. Mayes grew up in Issaquah, Washington, and attended Carroll College in Helena, Montana. After receiving his BA in Biology at Carrol College, he attended The New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts.
While at school, Dr. Mayes was recognized for his excellence in ocular disease management and pediatrics.
Dr. Mayes joined 20/20 Eyecare Centers in December 2006. He enjoys taking the time to talk with patients about their ocular conditions and has a specialized interest in dry eye management, diabetic retinal disease, and emergency eye care.
When not at the office Dr. Mayes enjoys traveling, biking, and time spent with his wife, twin daughters, and son.
He is currently seeing patients at our Silverdale Clinic.
Optometrist
Dr. Willems was born in California to a family of educators, and after graduating from UC Davis and Pacific University in 1990, he uses that background to educate patients about their vision and how best to maximize their visual potential.
Dr. Willems has practiced in the county since 1990 and joined Dr. McCown in his Vashon practice in 2000, becoming a partner in both Vashon and Silverdale in 2003.
He and his wife have two fun-loving children, Johnny and Selma, who are always ready for adventure.
Dr. Willem's skills at diagnosing visual conditions combine well with his goal of helping every patient preserve and enhance the gift of sight.
He is currently seeing patients at our Silverdale and Vashon clinics.
Optometrist
Dr. McCown grew up in Soldotna, Alaska. He did his undergraduate coursework at the University of Washington and attended Graduate School at Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon. He began his optometic career in Sequim, Washington in 1990 and came to Silverdale in 1993. There, with his partners, he helped 20/20 Eyecare expand to six locations.
Dr. McCown enjoys helping people experience life with clarity. He is passionate about reviewing eye health images with each patient . He also likes a challenging contact lens fit and a good, clean joke.
He is a past president of the Optometric Physicians of Washington. He and his wife Debbie have four grown sons, are active in their local church, and enjoy kayaking together.
He is currently seeing patients at our Kingston and Silverdale Clinics.
Optometrist
Dr. Brockett has made it his personal goal to individualize, as well as personalize, eye care services for each patient who enters his offices. He feels that a strong patient-doctor partnership is built through effective communication. He takes the time to understand his patients so he can identify distinct eye care needs and maximize patient care.
He is an active member of the American Optometric Association where he engages in continuing educational training throughout the year where he seeks to share new medical options for his patients while refining current services.
An active member in the community, Dr. Brockett provides strengthening support through Rotary service and local recreational sports clubs. In the past, Dr. Brockett has been a part of a team of doctors who have delivered humanitarian services to a third world country, and with limited resources, brought the gift of vision to many.
Dr. Brockett earned his doctoral degree from Pacific University in 2001, but don't let that fool you. His blood runs crimson and gray; he received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Washington State University. In 2001 he joined 20/20 Eyecare Center where he, along with his family, made Kitsap County their permanent home.

Dr. Willems grew up in central California and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Davis in 1986. In 1990, he received hisDoctor of Optometry degree with honors from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, and completed advanced training in Landstuhl, Germany, Regional Medical Center and the Naval Medical Center San Diego. Since 2014, he has maintained board certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.
He has practiced in Kitsap County for over 35 years, receiving the Kitsap Community Resources Volunteer of the Year Award in 1997. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Optometric Physicians of Washington. Heis apastpresidentofboththe Kitsap Optometric Societyand the Silverdale Dandy Lions Club.
Dr. Willems accepts appointments in the Silverdale and Vashon Island locations and provides comprehensive eye health examinations with exceptional attention to detail. He spends extra time testing for eye coordination deficiencies and potential prism therapies to maximize visual function and reduce eyestrain. He takes pride in practicing in a private practice setting, without the policies mandated by chain or corporate environments. His patients often report that he treats them like a family member–the experience is always personable and pleasant, yet professional.
Outside of work, Dr. Willems enjoys traveling with his wife and two children, as well as gardening (dahlias), hiking, fishing, and attending University of Washington football games
